Transmission range sensor replaced, and seems to have resolved the problem. Very intermittent and has occurred a few times since. TSB 11-12-10 - Replaced two valve body separator plates and removed a check ball. Transmission dropped out of gear momentarily under acceleration. Must replace entire shift handle as there is no way to tighten. Shift handle rotates slightly left and right. Ford TSB covers it, common problem, warranty. They did the reflash and the repair was successful.Ĭar exhibited a harsh bump after stopping for a light and trying to restart. They checked and there was a TSB to reflash the transmission computer. I had never reported it but I decided to ask the dealer about it. Forums indicate common issue.Ĭar had a rough downshift problem.

Transmission slips out of gear, intermittent issue, 3 times in 5 months, that dealer cannot replicate and Ford not sure what to do about or don't know how to diagnose. Might have been caused by improper towing. Sluggish accelerator and harsh bump from transmission. Known issue, repairable through TSB I was unable to convince dealer to perform being intermittent in nature.
Used a Cell phone video to diagnose the issue with the Dealer. Orange gear indicator flickered from orange to white, not indicating gear. Replaced torque converter, 3/5 wave plate, low/reverse diode, 3 & 5 clutches, 1234 clutch molden piston.Ĭar was erratically shifting from what ever gear it was in to neutral. When replacing transmission monitoring sensor, discovered a "pin" missing in the transmission. TSB 10-12-11 removed the valve separator plates, removed check ball and reassembled topped off w/fluid, reprogrammed the PCM.
Replaced rear pinion seal, where driveshaft enters rear differential. Random kicking from transmission (very rare). Power transfer unit was replaced (due to leak)
